Hello, my friends! So glad you could take some time out of your busy days an support a fellow Author. I can promise this right here and now, any and all of who come on this forum/blog and help, comment, participate in anyway; The favor will be returned guaranteed. First Let me start by telling you just a little about myself. I am a mom of two two great kids. Natalie who is 8 years old and ready to already take on the world-and me. Lol and my son Drake who is 13 and knows every answer to every question ….ever. No one else knows anything. LOL but other than that they’re amazing. I am currently working on my first novel although I’ve been writing since elementary school. I was first published in 4th grade with the young authors of America Poetry book. Then again just last year with a whole book of poems. You can find the link to that book attached below. I am in some crazy deep water with this whole self publishing, not to mention self-taught writer. These past 5 years I have read over 23 books to do with writing fiction, short stories, if there’s a writing style-you name it, I’ve read about it. I can’t even count how many words I’ve written including short stories for challenges on vocal media, Poetizer, my novel and just prompts and messing around. But after all o that I can happily say I’m a few courses away from getting my MBA and finishing the last half of my first draft. I know it sounds like it is coming to a closing but after my novel is in tip top shape I then have to figure out how to navigate KDP (kindle E-books). That’s a whole other lesson on it’s own. I have also been thinking about trying the KDP vella’s It’s where you write chapter for chapter. I thought it might let me get a handle on what I’m doing before I publish my novel, that Yes is my baby. What I’ve been working on and so passionate about for year and years. This is my first post so I’m also just getting a “feel” for this as well and can promise this page will soon be upgraded and more writing. And HOPEFULLY more subscribers/followers/readers. I will be back on later tonight into tomorrow morning to add an author email registry list and all I don’t have now. I hope you enjoy this as much as the idea and creating it has brought me. I started this Blog/site originally to promote myself as an author. I’m writing my first novel and all I’ve been reading and hearing is how crucial self-promotion is, especially when you are going to self-publish as am I on KDP. Now I know how to write, as in….type out words. That is it! Lol So it has been a journey just getting and learning how to figure this very part I am typing on now. And then, I got an idea. To have a blog that is indeed a self promoting blog for myself and book. (Hopefully make some cash before my release date as well) And I’d bet pretty much anything I am not the only one with this idea nor followed through on it, but I am the only site I could find that had every thing I wanted in one place.
This Blog will (again be about promoting myself) but that’s just it. I may get the gist of it. But I’m not sure on everything I probably should know and this is in just ONE area of this site that has hundreds of learning steps. It took me a week to figure out how to make my own domain name …..and be here..right here, typing lol. So here comes what I’m thinking. The Blog that’s Bloggers for Authors! Lol (Maybe you all can help me work on the title of it. But I know i need help now, so then I thought how many other first time writers are dealing with this exact thing at the exact time, or at least similar timing. Even experienced Authors with publications and awards to fill a room. WE need you lol. And you’re never have to much knowledge surrounding the area of your dream/career.
This blog I will write a few times a week. Starting with, obviously what I am struggling with, or accomplishing etc. (and much more exciting content I promise lol) but Once I start getting feed back I can start writing on things others might need to touch base on.
This will be a Blog where is, Yes, I’m the author but with a community of people all looking or searching for very similarities. It will be a safe space where we can ask questions, get advice, ask for feedback, and it goes on and on. I know that without anyone reading my First draft…I will NOT succeed in finishing this Novel never mind self publishing and promoting it. I know there are probably many others that also have people, yes. But have never actually came through when it came to you asking to review a story or chapter. And you can not (in my opinion. Especially as a first time Novelist) successfully complete it without that back up and support. Or even critique if needed. So that’s what I would like this to be. Or at least try to make it. If it doesn’t then it doesn’t and I will learn all on my own which is okay as well. Either way I’m learning. So, my question to all of you are, are you going to learn with me or just read and watch me learn?
This is where i will post what I find (or what I’m sent by others) very useful tips to use during writing, taught/said by already thoroughly established and published authors.
